ALTERNATIVE technologies
Which alternatives are appropriate depend on the available resources.
Some places are better suited for power generation using wind or solar power.
Cogeneration is another option, saving energy that would otherwise be
wasted. Demand side management is an important way to look at managing
resources - as is increased efficiency.
Here are some links to get you started on the wealth of alternatives to
too much hydro power.
Sometimes small hydro can be an important source of power when used
non-profligately. I hope to have more links on this soon.
